Barbara made a quilt for my daughter and son-in-law's wedding gift.  It was made from my Dad's shirts.  What an awesome feeling to see her open it.  She plans to pass on to her children.  What a great idea to carry on a loved one's memory — thanks, Barbara!!!

Osiyo (Hello), Your site is fascinating and it is also a precious one.  Quilts are like old family bibles in which they carry the warm loving spirits of the present families and souls of dear loved ones that have passed into the sacred place.  Viewing your site really took me back to old fashion God fearing days when we would sit and speak with one another about our dreams.  I'll be getting in touch with you shortly about a quilt project I'd like you to look at and/or create for me, but I want to research a few things first.  Wado! (Thank you.)

I liked your military quilt.  I'd like to see more of your work related to military designs, Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star, etc., if you have pictures of them.  Thank You.

The six months of waiting for my quilt of my husbands clothing was so much worth the wait.  Your loving care of wrapping it for me to open on Christmas Day was "priceless."  Our tears explained our happiness.  It was beautiful.  Every shirt brought back memories of him.  I was totally in awe.  Cannot find enough words to describe it.  I will send you a picture as soon as possible for you to post to your website.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making my Christmas so special.

I absolutely loved the memory quilt that Barbara made.  I gave her a bunch of my military uniforms and asked her to use the materials to make a heirloom that I could pass on to my loved ones.  It turned out amazingly beautiful.  She is such a talented lady!

From the early comments, people are very impressed with it.  I am more than happy with the way it turned out, because it shows exactly what I wanted it to, and that is events that have been important to me over the last 25 years.  It fits well with my new bed and other furniture and window coverings.  Overall, I am extremely satisfied with it.  Another comment I had on my quilt from a friend in Australia: "P.S. I had a look at your quilt video... it's awesome!!  My sister-in-law is into quilting BIG TIME and would be really impressed!"

I just received the quilt — perfect timing since my daughter left this morning for her senior trip — therefore I can spread it out and look at it as much as I want!!!  It is prettier than I could imagine it to be.  You did a marvelous job and I thank you so very much.  You made my day.  Thanks again.

When my son passed away 2 1/2 years ago, I couldn't go into his room without holding onto his clothes, smelling them, and then crying.  A friend of mine gave me the idea of making a quilt with them, but at the time I wasn't ready to clean out his belongings.  After several months went by, I started looking on the web for a quilt maker and that's when I found Barbara's site.  When I talked with her, I knew nothing about quilts or how they were made, but she made the process so easy and comfortable that all I needed to know was that she was taking care, talking too, and loving my son through the entire process!  Our quilt is AMAZING!  I cried the first time I saw it and couldn't wait to show everyone and my husband was speechless.  Before we saw the quilt, we were going to hang it in our bedroom, but there is no way I am going to let anyone escape my house without witnessing my son's story!  The quilt is going into our family room to be surrounded by everyone's love!  I love our quilt so much, that I will definitely be having Barbara make us another one in the future!

After my Dad passed away, the hardest thing for me to do was go in his closet and discard his clothes.  I kept them there just as he left them for far over 1/2 a year.  The thought of incorporating them into a quilt came to my mind.  I do some sewing, but knew this was far to large and important of a project for me to tackle.  I decided to look online if there was anyone I would trust with this big personal project.  Low and behold I found Barbara!!!  I contacted her and shipped Dad's clothes to Texas.  She is an angel.  I can not even begin to tell you my feelings when I received Dad's quilt.  Her workmanship is outstanding, top quality.  I now have a very personal family heirloom made from my Dad's clothes!!!  My children and grandchildren are having great fun with their memories of day's he wore certain shirts... it was great fun to match them up with pictures.  If you are interesting in having a family heirloom made, Barbara is the lady to do it!!  Thank you again, Barbara.  I will be forever grateful.

Oh my goodness, we love the quilt!!  I finally got to see the pictures of it when my sister came up to MN for a family reunion.  We've been extremely busy with the end of the school year and the family reunion.  My dad loved the quilt and has already showed it off to his friends (who I think are a little jealous), you are an extraordinary quilter and we appreciated you doing this very special quilt for us.  Thank you again for doing it!

I am absolutely in love with the quilt and throw that you made for my daughter and mother and father-in-law.  My daughter sleeps with hers every night and my mother and father in-law cried when they saw theirs.  As you know the quilts were made from my late husbands shirts and jeans and... well... as you can guess mean soooo much to us.  Thank you so much for making these on such short notice and as fast as you did.  I hope to send pictures soon!

I received my quilt from your shop on October 30, 2007.  Upon opening the package I could not hold back the tears of happiness and joy.  The quilt top was pieced together by my Mother, Frances Cyrus of West Virginia, who has passed away.  Then quilted by my husband's favorite Aunt Eunice of Reagan, Texas who has also passed away.  Then the project was topped off with all the love and special attention it deserved by Barbara and her wonder staff at Grandby's Quilts.  This photo quilt will be something that we will treasure and our generations to follow.  I have only had it with me for two days and already have a neighbor and two co-workers that feel they need this special gift as well.  If you are in need of something very special and completely unique this is the place to go, you need look no further.  Thanks again Grandby's for putting a perfect ending to our 2007!

I loved the quilt that I got finished with you.  It is so great and my daughter loves it.  As I told you, she has been collecting "Snoopy" since she was five years old and she just got her degree in forensics so this quilt was a part of her graduation gift.  I know that you took a picture of it and would really appreciate it if you could e-mail me a copy of it so that I could have it.  Thanks again!

Well !!  I've found my slice of quilters heaven. :}  I need to win the lottery so I can have my stash of quilt tops quilted right away.  The three that I've had done from Grandby's are absolutely beautiful, each new one out-doing the one before.  I couldn't be more pleased.  It's easy to see the smooth and gentle touch that comes through in the quilting.  Many, many thanx!!

I made a king sized quilt top and back and it has been waiting to be quilted for years.  I am so pleased that I found Barbara to do the quilting and finishing for me!  I could not be more pleased with the results and it was finished so quickly!  Barbara also monogrammed the back for me and chose the perfect color.  I would certainly be comfortable leaving any decisions up to Barbara.  Thank you Barbara for taking care of my project with the utmost loving care.  I am now looking forward to another project, but this one will not take as long with Barbara's help.

Thanks, Barbara, for the fabulous quilting you did on my Spurs quilt.  I usually do my own quilting, but because this quilt will be a silent auction item at the Bruce Bowen Golf Classic event this year, I wanted the work to be special.  I can't tell you enough how pleased we all are with the end result.  Not only is the work beautiful, complimenting the theme of the quilt, you finished it well within the time frame we discussed.  Thank you again for your work on this quilt.

I had a photo quilt made for my boyfriend Jonathan for Christmas.  He had absolutely no idea what he was getting and was totally surprised.  He loved it.  The pictures turned out wonderful on the fabric and the colors were amazing.  Barbara was so nice and helpful to me along the way even when I began to stress about not having it in time, she never let me down.  It seemed as if she truly knew me as more than just a person on the other end of the email.  I would truly recommend her work any day!  She is very very talented!

Grandby's Quilts made three quilted memory throws for us from my son, Thomas' clothing, mostly tee shirts and jeans.  We added pictures to two of the throws.  They are beautiful and will be treasured forever as Thomas was killed in an auto accident on March 9, 2005.  Most importantly Michelle and Barbara at Grandby's really listened to our ideas so that the throws are exactly what we wanted, even the inclusion of a sock and bandana that our son's wife asked to have on her quilt.  The pattern is lovely and having the monogramming put on jean pockets was a wonderful idea that they suggested.  The workmanship is incredible assuring us the quilts will last a long, long time.  I did not want to ask Grandby's for a time deadline, but they finished all the throws very quickly so that we were able to have them for Thomas' June 16th birthday which was very special to us.  Grandby's does outstanding work and I recommend them to everyone.  If your quilt is a special one, be assured you will be treated with compassion and understanding and be very happy with your quilt.

I received your photo king quilt from my Mother for Christmas this year.  As I opened it and saw the photos telling my life story from the time I was an infant through my childhood, my teenage years, my graduation, my marriage, my children and every family member that I love was included -— I cried.  And so did the rest of my family — EVERYONE.  This is the most sentimental, wonderful gift I could have ever received.  It will truly be an heirloom that I pass down to my daughter.  Thank you so much for all the hard work and the beautiful stitching.  But most of all, thank you for the wonderful memories that my family will share every time we see the quilt.  It is so beautiful, I will be displaying it on my wall.

We had a photo quilt made by Grandby's for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary.  When they opened it, they were truly amazed.  They had never seen anything like it before.  The ladies at Grandby's did excellent work and went the "extra mile" to get it entirely completed in time for the big occasion.  (They had originally told me that they wouldn't be able to complete it for another month or so).  Thank you, Grandby's!

What beautiful, loving stitches your ladies used to complete my first hand-quilted project.  It will always hold a special place in my heart.  Typically, I machine piece and machine quilt my projects myself.  This was my first hand-pieced and hand-appliquéd quilt and I couldn't bare to machine quilt it after all the hand work.  I was nervous about sending it to someone, but your work is gorgeous.  I can't wait to send my next one!!!

I have seen Grandby's work, first hand, and know the loving stitches that they put into the quilted project.  The pictures on the site are only a blink of the true beauty in Grandby's finished quilts.  The thought, planning, customer consideration and personal pride can be seen in these works of art.  I've heard some of the stories that go with the finished quilt and it's true that each one has its own personal history.  May all of you continue to "bring tears to the eyes" of the lucky ones who trust their craftsmanship and memories to be lovingly created into works of art by your group.  I've COMPARED and you are all that talented.

Hi Mrs. Barbara!  I was so excited to see your website!  It looks really good.  My step mom has recently started making quilts, so I decided to show her your website.  She was impressed too.  I didn't know that one of your quilts was in a magazine!  That's so cool!  Kyle says hi.  We miss you bunches.  Hope to see you soon!

I recently conducted a web search looking for a Victorian crazy quilt throw.  After reviewing nearly 50 sites, I found Grandby's Quilts with an absolutely amazing quilt.  The Harvest Crazy Quilt is constructed of velvet and has the added bonus of hand embroidery.  It will have a place of honor on the wall of my newly remodeled home.  Barbara Harris and her staff are marvelous; I hope to order again soon!!!

Grandby's helped me with a auction project for New Braunfels Christian Academy.  I had the kids, in the class, make crosses out of cloth.  Grandby's incorporated it into a beautiful quilt.  They donated much of there time for the school, for I'm sure this quilt will bring the school a pretty penny.  Thanks for your help!

For a moment I was in another world.  Each page was a new surprise.  I love all your kids quilts, it is like painted pictures.  SMILING FACES let me think of my own 2 kids boy 6 and girl 4.  We live on a farm where the men work on the farm and some of the women work in the 2 farmhouse's.  So to give every one something to do I teach all the women to quilt.  Now each family have at least 1 quilt.  SMILING FACES.  Then it was the kids turn. I want to make something for them to enjoy.....so I use square blocks and it work they look at all the pictures and tell stories.  When we got visitors it is the first thing they show.  It is wonderful to know that our house is full of SMILING FACES.

Thank you so much for my beautiful Texas quilt and placemats.  What a wonderful job.  I don't think I could have found a better place to shop.  Even doing everything through email my order was just what I wanted.  I had shopped and shopped to find a Texas quilt wall hanging when I finally found you online.  Thank you so much for all of the correspondence through emails.  Thank you again, I am very pleased.  This has been the perfect finishing touches to my new "Texas" living room!

Had a memory quilt made from the San Antonio shop.  BEAUTIFUL!  UNIQUE!  The people there made me feel like a family member rather than just another customer.  I will be back and I want to tell all of you about this unique shop.

Hi Barb - You are such a talented lady, but then, one meets talent in theater which is where we first met. Thanks for your suggestions on quilting the 'Japenese Lantern' quilt my mom started in the 1950's - I'm very pleased. Oh, how about a little musical diddy for the next wassailfest? "A Wassailing we'll go - hi ho the dairy ole, a wassailing we'll go"?  Happy Quilting.

Barbara did an incredible job in putting hand-embroidered pieces together that Grandmother had left us. Barbara chose the perfect paisley pattern that pulled all the different colors together, and now we have a quilt that will be passed down to future generations. We now have something that keeps us warm with memories!

Living overseas, I took a chance "sight unseen" when I sent Barb my first bed-sized quilt - an "I Spy" for my oldest daughter. I was incredibly pleased, and have continued to use the quilting service ever since. Even though I'm scheduled to return to the east coast this summer, I intend to continue sending my tops to Texas! Thanks!

I have had Barbara machine quilt for me on two occasions. One was a large quilt and the other was a small quilt. She did an excellent job on both of them!! Thanks, Barbara.

Grandby's is great!  I had looked for a shop like this for a long time and they have the best variety and prices.  Though I do not quilt myself, I do collect them and enjoy visiting and getting the great assistance from Barbara and her staff.  The shop is quaint and welcoming, and this was the only place where I could find quilted table runners.  Thanks Barbara!

I have received quilts from Grandby's Quilts in San Antonio, and Ms.Harris, the owner, does a great job.  She's knowledgeable and friendly and pieces together some beautiful quilts.  Whatever your rating system is, my rating for her place is terrific.

Really enjoying the quilt you quilted for me.  The neat EAGLE throw from your showroom has caused quite a stir in my neighborhood!  It's really beautiful.  Glad it is on your website for others to see.  For such a tiny little place, your store sure packs a wallop!  Will be back.

Awesome shoppe! It's unusual to find a quilt shop that doesn't sell fabric or thread and really be a quilt shop, but you have & it's really unique. Enjoyed browsing and buying, but it was really super watching you machine quilt! Good luck! I'll be back!
